Sorry to hear that you were given the incorrect media installers.

I'm not sure if Xerox hosts a support site where they house installers. If you're still having difficulty securing the disks, please let us know via this thread. I was told that what came with the machine is the correct software however clearly it says Xerox on the CD's but have a Xerox C75 so I have no idea where to proceed because if I lost the CD's then I need to pay to have them replaced which is nice and all except for the fact that I have the CD's just the wrong ones.

Is there anyway that EFI can help me out of this jam? You should contact whomever you purchased your Fiery, and kindly ask them to provide you with the correct kit. Note: This driver will work for both versions 1. Controllers with 1.I have worked with Fiery Controllers like IC in the past. This is the reload routine for a Fiery IC, but yours is probably similar. To reload the system software you have to change 2 dip switches to enable the service mode. It should recognise the Fiery controller.

World of Fiery Webinar: Work fast, not hard, with Fiery Command WorkStation 6.4

Start the installation, first it loads the boot. It will take a while to load the software. Sometimes it feels the installation is stalling but this is normal. Once finished, put the dip switches back and reboot the Fiery. If everything goes OK, it will prompt for the set-up routine. After the installation you should apply the correct patches. It is important you install them in the correct order and reboot the controller between each patch. Thanks for the response!

The procedure you described is the same one I attempted a couple of days ago; the problem I am having is that it is not loading boot. Can you clarify, was the bustled unit attached to the copier or on a bench when you performed this software reload?

Depends on the unit. If the display is attached to the Fiery you don't need the unit on the copier. The Konica Minolta unit must be attached to the copier because the Fiery uses the copier's display panel. If yours is an embedded unit no displayit must be connected to the copier.

Connect everything ,start the install CD and within 10 seconds switch on the Fiery. After you install the boot. At some stage during the installation you get prompted for a password.

The password is Fiery. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Get answers from your peers along with millions of IT pros who visit Spiceworks. However one day it just stopped scanning scan would complete but file would never make it to shared folder on smb share.

After troubleshooting and making sure all patches were applied, still nothing. So i grabbed my trusty crash cart and off I went to boot up the Fiery and see what she loads into. The implications of this, anyones guess, however, she is posting so Next thought was ok I will reload the system software I have the 3 CDs that came with the machine, System Software v2. Is this plan feasible?

I feel like there is some troubleshooting I am missing here. One thing to mention is right now the Fiery is on my bench, would this cause the hang in loading?

When I was first troubleshooting and doing update I remember taking the crash cart to the copier and still receiving the hang, however I would need to hook it up again to be sure. Is this accurate? I assume so since the CD is trying to emulate an ethernet boot environment. We are getting by on some older hardware in the interim, but the is so much faster! I dont have a huge budget and there is no service agreement on the machine either. In my office we do our share of high end printing.

We have Hp color lasers, Xerox Phaser solid ink printers, HP designjet plotters, professional artists, Adobe suites and repro houses on speed dial. I thought we kinda sorta knew what was going on, but now that we are shopping for a color photocopier which would definitely be at the bottom of our expected quality scalewe are starting to hear about "Fiery" and how it's the greatest thing toast, and I just have no idea what this is.

I can read any number of web sites that will basically tell me that it's a Big Box of Wonderflonium that will make Everything Better. Does it support our current printers? Work with Adobe? A pointer to a nuts and bolts, just the facts description would be really appreciated. From a user perspective, it sent all of the jobs to a queue that can manage the print jobs.

I can say Yes, it will work with Adobe and PS files. I think you may have to get something from one of the service techs for use and configuration I had to do that for my Canon MFP's due to Canon keeping a tight lid on everything but sales documents. I wish I had more to give you, but it seems lile they want to keep the documents pretty close.

Most of the techs we dealt with were from Xerox who had the training, maybe an HP tech could get you something to give you a better idea of how to use it Bribing with lunch helps. I have gotten a lot of helpful info from our Canon guy by paying for his lunch when he was here installing our software.

We have a big Xerox printer with all the bells and whistles. It's uses the Fiery controller. I thought it was a Xerox thing, but I could be wrong. To me, the Fiery is in between an OS and a printer driver. I don't know much else about it.

I'm not super impressed by it, but I don't do the printing. Maybe it is super cool, I'm not sure. They're typically higher end workstations and we've typically had good luck with them.
